Lowell Remembers . . . The time I was standing Saturday morning inspection across from OC Longsworth, a guy who was funny without intending to be. Our room had been hit by the “ first class tornado, ” and we were standing in the rubble. OCLTC Finley came in to “ visit, ” and, during the course of his tirade, told OC Longsworth, “ At least you have a pretty good crease in your pants! ” Later, we were visited by another upper classman who asked if we had “ gotten anything right! ” “ Yes, sir! ” came the response from across the room. (I immediately had to fight to “ maintain emotional control, ” because I knew what OC Longsworth was about to say). “ What did you get right, Mr. Longsworth? ” (I ’m now losing my fight to maintain composure). “ The crease in my pants, sir! ” came the reply. I totally lost my fight. Somehow it was worth it to “ lose a white one. ”
